MSA General Monitors Observer® i Ultrasonic Gas Leak Detector
The GENERAL MONITORS OBSERVER i-5-1-1-1-1-1 is a configuration variant of the Observer® i ultrasonic gas leak detector, engineered for instant detection of pressurized gas leaks using advanced acoustic sensing technology.
Unlike traditional gas detectors, it identifies leaks by detecting ultrasonic sound waves, making it highly effective even in open or ventilated environments where gas dispersion would normally limit detection.
Key Features
-
Ultrasonic Leak Detection (GasSonic® Technology)
Detects gas leaks based on sound rather than gas concentration, enabling faster response
-
Omnidirectional Detection
Covers a wide area (up to ~28 m radius), reducing the number of detectors required
-
Not Affected by Wind or Gas Dispersion
Ideal for outdoor and high-airflow environments where conventional sensors fail
-
Artificial Neural Network (ANN) Technology
Distinguishes real gas leaks from background noise, minimizing false alarms
-
Fast Detection Response
Detects leaks from as low as ~2 bar pressure almost instantly
-
Self-Test & Fail-Safe Operation
Built-in Senssonic™ self-test ensures continuous reliability
-
Industrial Communication Integration
Supports HART and Modbus protocols for control systems
